Rail Crossing Panel Kits are used to quickly deploy a pre-built, pre-sized crossing. A small crane can drop the 7″ x 50″ x 20′ panel into place, some quick lag screws and the crossing is ready to go. We also supply the “outside” narrow panels, which sit on the ties, they are 7″ x 20″ x 20′. All the panels are tapered so they sit on the ties flat and allow space for the rail plates. We can also taper the ends for service truck accessibility if necessary.

Rail Crossing Panels Customized and Ready for Rapid Deployment
We manufacture Hem/Fir Rail Crossing Panels, specifically designed to quickly install safe and reliable rail crossings.
When speed of installation is critical, our Rail Crossing Panels offer a quick and efficient solution. These panels are typically 5 pieces of 10” wide 8″ thick timber. These are nailed directly on to the rail ties. These panels, essentially mats bolted together, allow for rapid placement and minimal downtime, ensuring that your crossings are operational as quickly as possible.
We also provide customization, including:
- 6” or 7” or 8” thickness (typical) depending on the rail height from tie top.
- Undercutting for Rail Plates: We can undercut the bottom of two timbers to accommodate rail plates, providing a seamless and stable crossing.
- Shaped Ends for Utility Contractors: Our timbers can be shaped to allow utility contractors to easily access and navigate the crossings with their vehicles.
- Outside Timbers: We offer outside timbers that rest on tie ends, which can be backfilled with gravel or asphalt for enhanced stability and durability.
