RailwayHardwood and Softwood Blocking

Hardwood Blocks are used for jacking up heavy equipment, such as rail cars, trucks, dump vehicles, and mining equipment. Pacific Coast Maple timber is used instead of a steel plate because it is lighter, maneuverable, non-slip and has more “give” without being crushable. Douglas Fir (softwood) also makes an excellent wedge.
