And now for something completely different….Industrial Timber Furniture! We have an enterprising customer who decided to make some heavy timber furniture for his sun deck. This looks awesome! Made from 8″ x 8″ Western Hemlock timbers, bandsawn to 7-3/4″ x 7-3/4″ square. And then in the Shou Sugi Ban style he is “torching” the surface and then wire brushing the loose burnt wood off.  Following a scrub with water and a soft brush the furniture is ready and doesn’t transfer any of the “carbon” to the cushion (or person). One thing about this design, the wind won’t blow it over and no schmuck is going to steal it!
